Happy One Month Charli!

Charli is one month old today! I never thought we would be celebrating in the hospital :(  I'm having one of those days as where I feel like we are as far as ever from getting home.  But I have to think back at all the progress our sweet girl has made. She is now 4lbs 7oz, she's taking all the bottles and no feeding tube, and her cyst is stable! These are all things to thank God for! Her platelets on the other hand are the problem.

We got the lab work back on Travis and I, and we are 99% compatible! While that's great news and all, it means that she does not have NAIT (Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia) like they thought she did. Which also means they have NO IDEA what is causing her platelets to drop so low. That's right folks they put all their eggs in one basket and it came back negative so we are starting over from scratch. I mean I questioned all the doctors yesterday and nobody has any ideas. Not the neonatologist or the hematologist. The best the hematologist could say is that he needs to look at her platelets without donor platelets in her system, which means she has to go 10-14 days without a transfusion. She's never gone two weeks without them dropping so low she needs one. 10 days is the minimum but they say they can try. Which pretty much means we are always, at the least, two weeks from getting out of here. As you can imagine I was super defeated when they told me that. Her last transfusion was Monday so if she can make it 10 days that will be Thursday of next week. Then they have to look at her platelets, diagnosis her, AND treat her all before we can leave. See you in October? :( The platelet count is 95,000 today and we need that to not drop below 30,000 in the next six days. Keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers people because we really really need it. All we want is for her to get better so we can just bring are sweet girl home like a normal 1 month old would be.

In other news her feedings are going great. She's is taking 12.5cc every 3 hours now and getting it all down like a champ. She's even waking up before most feedings to let us know she's hungry. She said they are giving me this milk again and I'm not going to let them stop! By the time they get these platelets resolved I bet she will be a solid 6 pounds! Little chunker :)

Ok so I guess once was the limit!

That little sticker is as big as she is, even at 4 lbs 7 oz. LOL
She is our precious little baby Charli. Love you all.
